ARTISTIC BIOGRAPHY
Giovanni Benvenuti (Siena, June 27, 1989) is a saxophonist, composer, and teacher among the most active in the contemporary Italian jazz scene. He graduated with top marks and academic distinction from the G. B. Martini Conservatory of Bologna and continued his studies at the Siena Jazz International Masters program In.Ja.m., which focuses on improvisation techniques, and at prestigious summer seminars, studying with internationally renowned teachers. He has participated in workshops with institutions such as the Paris Conservatory and Berklee College of Music in Boston, and was the only italian musician to be selected to participate in the 2013 IASJ meeting in Denmark. He has also attended numerous masterclasses held by internationally renowned musicians. His concert activity, both as a leader and sideman, has led him to perform at some of the most important festivals and clubs in Italy and abroad, performing his music in Spain, France, Germany, Panama, Switzerland, Slovenia, the United States, Turkey, and other countries. He is the artistic director of club and festival events such as the Val d'Agri Jazz Festival and the Connetto Jazz Festival. He combines his concert activity with teaching: he has taught saxophone and ensemble music courses at prestigious academies such as Siena Jazz and has given masterclasses at institutions such as the Reggio Calabria Conservatory.

BIOGRAFIA ARTISTICA
Giovanni Benvenuti (Siena, 27 giugno 1989) è un sassofonista, compositore e docente tra i più attivi nel panorama jazzistico italiano contemporaneo. Diplomato con 110, lode e menzione accademica al Conservatorio G. B. Martini di Bologna, si è perfezionato presso Siena Jazz master internazionale In.Ja.m. dedicato alle tecniche d’improvvisazione e nei prestigiosi seminari estivi, studiando con docenti di fama internazionale.
Ha partecipato a workshops con istituzioni come Conservatorio di Parigi e Berklee College of Music di Boston, ed è stato selezionato per partecipare, unico italiano, al meeting IASJ 2013 in Danimarca.
Ha inoltre frequentato molte masterclass tenute da musicisti di livello internazionale.
La sua attività concertistica, sia in veste di leader che di sideman, lo ha portato ad esibirsi in alcuni dei festival e club più importati in Italia e all’estero, eseguendo la sua musica in Spagna, Francia, Germania, Panama, Svizzera, Slovenia, Stati Uniti, Turchia e altri paesi.
Cura la direzione artistica di rassegne in club e festival come il Val d’Agri jazz festival ed il Connetto jazz festival.
Affianca all’attività concertistica la didattica: ha tenuto corsi sassofono e musica di insieme in prestigiose accademie come il Siena Jazz ed ha fatto masterclass in istituzioni come il Conservatorio di Reggio Calabria.
